Plans & Credits
How plans, AI Credits, AI Updates, rollover, credit packs, trials, and team pricing work.
sprintrr meters AI usage with two separate allowances, both shown in the sidebar AI usage panel:
- AI Credits — spent when AI generates: a new project, tasks from a transcript, or an Ask answer (1 credit each).
- AI Updates — a separate monthly allowance for AI-written status updates.
Plans determine both allowances plus feature access. With Bring Your Own Key enabled, both are unlimited and consume nothing.
The figures below describe the plan structure. Always confirm current prices and limits on the in-app pricing page — pricing can change and your account's pricing page is authoritative.
Plans
| Plan | Indicative price | AI Credits / mo | Rollover | AI Updates / mo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free / Trial | — | Trial allotment | — | 0 (BYOK works) |
| Basic (Personal) | ~$10 / mo | 10 | up to 5 (cap ~15) | 20 |
| Pro (Personal) | ~$19 / mo | 50 | up to 25 (cap ~75) | 100 |
| Team | Per-seat, scales with team size (3, 5, 10, 15, 20 seats) | Pooled across the team | — | 500 pooled |
Annual billing is available for Basic, Pro, and Team at a reduced effective monthly rate. Team plans are priced per member and scale with the chosen team size.
What spends AI Credits
Each of these consumes one AI Credit:
- AI project generation (paragraph → full plan).
- Transcript → tasks extraction.
- Ask answers (one credit per question).
Manual project/task/milestone work, tracking, exports, and the MCP API do not consume credits. With Bring Your Own Key enabled (available on every plan), generation runs on your own provider key and consumes no AI Credits — your balance is preserved.
AI Updates
AI Updates is a separate monthly allowance for AI-written status updates — it does not draw from your AI Credits.
- A manual or scheduled update = 1; a portfolio (multi-project) update = 5.
- Delivering an already-generated update to Slack or email is free (delivery isn't generation).
- Per-plan allowance: Free 0, Basic 20, Pro 100, Team 500 pooled.
- With Bring Your Own Key, AI Updates are unlimited.
Your remaining AI Updates show in the sidebar AI usage panel and on the project Updates tab.
Rollover and reset
Credits reset monthly on your reset date. Unused credits roll over up to your plan's cap (e.g. Pro: 50/month, up to 25 rolled over, ~75 maximum). Your current balance, monthly allotment, and reset date are shown in the sidebar and in Settings → Billing.
Credit packs
One-time credit packs can be purchased on top of a plan when you need more generations in a cycle (e.g. small bundles of 5, 10, or 25 credits). Packs add to your available balance.
Trials and grace periods
New accounts start on a trial. Access is governed by subscription status (active, trialing, past_due, cancelled) with a grace period handled automatically — if a renewal is late, access continues briefly while billing resolves rather than cutting off immediately. Expired/again-needed states prompt an upgrade.
Managing your subscription
Everything you need lives in Settings → Billing:
- Change plan — upgrade or downgrade between Basic and Pro. A preview shows you the prorated charge (for upgrades) or the effective date (for downgrades) before you confirm. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect on your next renewal date so you keep what you paid for.
- Switch billing interval — flip the same plan between monthly and annual. Annual is billed up-front at a reduced effective monthly rate; switching from annual to monthly credits the unused portion of your term toward future invoices.
- Cancel — captures an optional reason and feedback. Access continues until the end of the current period; you can reactivate anytime before then with one tap.
- Reactivate — undo a pending cancellation while you're still inside the current period.
- Billing portal — opens Polar's secure customer portal for payment-method updates and invoice download. (Plan and cancellation flows stay in-app; only payment cards and invoices live on Polar.)
If a renewal payment fails, access continues through a short grace period while you update your card via the billing portal.
